Welcome!

Practicing Resurrection 2008, a conference co-sponsored by *culture is not optional and Russet House Farm, will take place August 15-17 in Cameron, ON, with camping on the farm August 11-14 leading up to the conference.

This year’s theme will be Home Economics, which Wendell Berry defines as “the ways of human housekeeping, the ways by which the human household is situated and maintained within the household of nature.”  Our keynote speaker will be Brian Walsh, who, with Steve Bouma-Prediger, co-authored Beyond Homelessness: Christian Faith in an Age of Dislocation.  The 2008 conference will once again be family-friendly, with childcare and children’s workshops. Many of the favorite features from Practicing Resurrection 2006 will make a reappearance—the camp store, the music jam, Sunday morning worship, wide-ranging workshops—in addition to some exciting new elements.

Participants in 2006 expressed gratitude for a time and space in which to reinforce the reality of an active Christian community, learn more about the particulars of serving God’s Kingdom in everyday life and simply enjoy creation on the farm and in the surrounding area.  We hope you’ll plan to join us in 2008 for such an experience!
